Hendry McMahon (Mr Energy) - Bass & Vocals
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa Hendry is a blues fanatic; living, sleeping, eating and breathing blues music. After gigging with bands across South Africa and Zimbabwe for many years, Hendry moved to West Wales.
Hendry until recently used to play lead guitar with The Accelerators but has relinquished this role to his son Virgil, so you can expect some steaming bass patterns from this competent all round guitarist. Every so often there may be a swop round of instruments were Hendry gets a chance to show off some lead guitar. With three keen guitarists and an extraordinary number of instruments the stage setup sometimes looks like a pro guitar shop!
Hendry's voice has a true blues expression with attitude and grit, so don't expect to book the band for a kids birthday party, but do expect a serious night of blues power.

Virgil McMahon (Guitar Hurricane) - Guitar
You may think he is the baby of the band and in one way you would be right... only 15 years old! But with nearly 15 years experience (his dad Hendry started teaching him early) this young man has a pair of hands and a head like a seasoned blues musician.
Our nickname for Virgil is the"Guitar Hurricane". Those nimble fingers can turn to a blur when the night hots up and the notes flow like a waterfall.
Virgil is obviously destined for guitar greatness. When he gets spotted by the right promoter he will no doubt be snapped up and hopefully become a household name. He has it all: surprising mellow tenderness, to a mean mother f...ker playing kick ass blues guitar.

Hugh Morgan (The Doctor) - Guitar, Slide Guitar & Harmonica
Hugh has played in blues bands for many years. He grew up on jazz and blues with his dads collection of 45s and 33rpm records. Big Maceo, Otis Spann, Hudie Leadbetter, Sonny Boy Williamson and Fats Waller to name but a few influences. Hugh has great depth of knowledge and skill both on guitar, slide guitar and harp.
The Accelerators benefits from his range of slide and harp playing, enabling a broad spectrum of blues can be heard at any Accelerators gig.
