PUB OF THE YEAR!! AGAIN!! - posted by goginan

As if  the “38 years in the guide” presentation wasn’t enough recognition for the Druid Inn, it has now won the CAMRA Ceredigion “Pub of the Year” again.  That’s two years in succession in 2008 and 2009 and a total of four times in recent years!  To celebrate this achievement there will be a presentation “ceremony” on April 6th and a mini beer festival at the pub with some very special real ales.  Don’t miss it!!!  It is nice to have an excuse for a little excess, although it has never stopped us before!!!  Well done Lewis!

Presentation late afternoon around 3.00pm
Music for the evening from 9 pm will be provided by the Shelleys plus support. See you there!

Presentation to Lewis Johnson
This is not a cricket score but the number of continuous years that the Druid Inn in Goginan has been in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide. There are few pubs in Wales or even in the rest of the UK that can match this record and so to mark this significant achievement, Bae Ceredigion CAMRA, the local CAMRA branch presented a certificate to Lewis Johnston, the current landlord of the Druid, on Saturday 12th January 2013. The presentation took place during the afternoon and all present sampled some beers from all over the UK in a Beer Festival that weekend.

Clearly, Lewis isn’t the only landlord who has contributed to this considerable achievement. Praise must also go to Reg and Jim, both sadly no longer with us, and John who is still very much a part of the community and major supporter of the Druid.
